SIID Technologies, Inc. is a mission-driven legal tech startup dedicated to advancing fairness, transparency, and equity within the legal justice system.

Although the 6th Amendment guarantees the right to counsel as a cornerstone of due process and fair proceedings, the U.S. court system struggles to meet this obligation due to a severe case backlog exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic. As a result, nearly 500,000 individuals—many from marginalized communities—are held in pre-trial detention for non-violent offenses. These detainees face enormous challenges in a strained legal system, heavily reliant on overworked and under-resourced public defenders. This crisis not only deepens systemic inequalities but also imposes a significant financial burden on taxpayers, costing $18.8 billion annually due to extended detention and highlighting inefficiencies in the current system.

Driven by the belief that social and economic factors should not determine access to justice, our team at SIID is committed to using innovative technologies to provide legal professionals and institutions with the tools they need to uphold fundamental civil rights and ensure justice is accessible to all.
